Interview with artist Herzfarbenrausch

Herzfarbenrausch’s real name is Enas Jusufov and he lives in Kardof, Bornheim Germany. According on his Instagram account, he is a queer artist, rich in love and colors, making him proud to support the LGBTQ+ community. Moreover, he has always been fascinated and inspired by discovering the abstract and the distant emotions in it.

Can you tell us the meaning behind your art name, Herzfarbenrausch?

Sure thing. Herzfarbenrausch consists of three words which are heart, colors, and intoxication.

Heart means love, colors mean colorful life, inspiration, and joy; then intoxication means the state in which you fall when you paint. It's like meditation.

I can see on your Instagram that you are a queer artist - What are the challenges you've faced as a queer artist?

Life is a challenge if you’re a gay, queer artist. I live in a catholic village. I am gay, foreign and fat. I was and will always be a bird of paradise here.

I think we should never stop living our dreams for ourselves. I love my art, and that is the most important thing. Acceptance comes by itself when you believe in yourself.

When and how did you figure out that you love art?

Pretty early. It is thanks to my colored pencils and wallpaper from the suffering of my parents.

What kind of art do you make?

I can't say that it's a mix of everything, but I would say emotion artist, depending on the muse. I love expressionism and pop art, something in between them.

What inspires you the most that can drive your creativity?

What inspires me the most are the colorful people who do not meet the norm and the weird birds, the birds of paradise!

What are the things you like about Canvy? How was your experience so far?

It's fast and straightforward so far. I can recommend everything very well.

Do you have exciting plans for this coming Christmas?

After the Coronavirus happened, there is currently nothing on my plan. However, I've made a great calendar for 2022 with the best queer work of art that you can buy on

What have been your key challenges in trying to get your work online?

The technical, of course. I'm not particularly skilled at creating a homepage, so other challenges have come my way.

What else do you love?

Besides painting and making art, I love traveling, eating food, and dancing life itself.

What is the one thing you think can make people love painting?

I believe it's the positive effect of the colors, the calm, and the meditative state of painting.
