About the artist

I’m a multi-disciplinary Filipino artist hailing from the province of Bulacan. My fascination with arts started when I was young, I scribbled into my notebooks using pens during breaks at school which had grown into a passion and a turning point for me to take up Fine Arts major in Advertising at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila.

During my time at college, I got in love with painting and focused on this as my art form. I was an active member and officer at our art organizations and right after graduation in 2003, I regularly participated in various group exhibitions locally. Whilst juggling art and a day job as a Graphic Designer, I finished off my Master’s degree in Business Administration at Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

The year 2019 was a fulfilling year for me as an artist. I was named a National Finalist at the Metrobank Art and Design Excellence (MADE) Competition and held my first ever solo exhibit, “The Beauty of Destruction” where I depicted the idea that beauty is a measure of effect, a measure of emotions.

As an artist, I believe that the aesthetic orthodox has become an obsession in current societal conventions and got inspired by the expressionist fauvism movement. I depicted my nudes with an energetic and bold brush works by using both pastel and vibrant colours to stir sentiments of spirituality and eroticism at the same time.
